Group Haiku Project: The Two Towers

February is half way over. So it’s time for me to throw open the list for March. We will be continuing to follow the broken fellowship as the march towards The Two Towers… The complete rules for this month can be found after the chapter list.

  1. The Departure of Boromir
  2. The Riders of Rohan
  3. The Uruk-hai
  4. Treebeard
  5. The White Rider
  6. The King of the Golden Hall
  7. Helm’s Deep
  8. The Road to Isengard
  9. Flotsam and Jetsam
  10. The Voice of Saruman
  11. The Palantír
  12. The Taming of Smeagol
  13. The Passage of the Marshes
  14. The Black Gate is Closed
  15. Of Herbs and Stewed Rabbit
  16. The Window on the West
  17. The Forbidden Pool
  18. Journey to the Cross-roads
  19. The Stairs of Cirith Ungol
  20. Shelob’s Lair
  21. The Choices of Master Samwise

Since “Fellowship” was the first, of hopefully many, literary haiku group projects; it was a bit of a learning experience. This month we are going to alter the rules a bit.

Based on the February project, I will accept multiple requests for the same chapter. It should be interesting to see how different writers handle the same content. The only rule being if you want to double up (or triple or…) you need to claim an unclaimed chapter first, assuming there is one left.

Otherwise the same posting rules apply, post you haiku on the day of your chapter number, link back to this post. You can also tag your haiku with LOTRHaiku to help improve visibility for the project. If you miss your day or want to grab an earlier chapter later in the month don’t worry, go for it.

If you are not a blogger but would like to take part let me know and I will be happy to post your entry for you on the blog.

As before you are welcome to use to use the banner or this badge as part of your post(s) or to advertise your participation.

Or any image you feel fits your chapter… It’s up to you.

  1. I’ll take the 3rd, 10th, and 17th. And I’m going to try to make my haiku not only follow the plot, but more visual as well. Wish me luck! These are definitely a challenge.

      1. FYI JudahFirst will be doubling up but feel free to go ahead with yours. I’m liking the extra views on the chapters.

The “rules” for the project are a work in progress.

  2. I also took the liberty to complete 8 & 9 but just now saw Rob’s comment! Good thing you changed the rules this month! LOL Just put the link to Rob’s if you want, I won’t be offended. 🙂

    1. I do believe we are done with this book. I’ve had a crazy week (con recovery) so I am a bit behind. I will get the full page up soon and update the project page. The “return of the king” chapter list will be ready soon.
